Attention restaurant owners, caterers and delivery services! From January 1, 2023, a new packaging law will come into force and with it the obligation to offer reusable containers as an alternative to disposable containers for orders and food to go. We at Better-Pack welcome this step towards a more sustainable future - and actively support our customers with our environmentally friendly products.
In Germany, disposable to-go packaging generates almost 800 tons of packaging waste every day. In order to counteract this enormous environmental impact, in the future all catering establishments, from snack bars to restaurants, will be legally obliged to offer reusable options and to point them out. (The obligation to offer reusable packaging does not apply if the business is small, i.e. with a maximum of five employees and 80m² of sales area). The alternative food packaging must not be more expensive than disposable containers, and a deposit may be charged. For this reason, there is also a take-back obligation - the reusable packaging put into circulation must be taken back.
This of course means that you - owners of fast food restaurants and delivery services, supermarkets or gas stations - have to put in more work: you have to introduce a deposit system, manage the receipt of returned packaging and ensure that it is cleaned and stored. Unfortunately, we cannot take all this extra work off your hands. But at least we can offer you many different, sustainable and inexpensive reusable packaging so that you can easily and safely take the first and most important step towards your future-oriented takeaway system. We are happy to support you as a partner for sustainable reusable packaging. Feel free to contact us by email ( info@better-pack.de ) or by phone on +49 (0) 9499 9499690 - we are available to answer all your questions about sustainable packaging.
